[She/Her] Laura is fascinated by how the human body moves and heals—especially in relation to movement patterns and postural demands, but also by the positive effect massage therapy can have on the nervous system. After working as a communications professional for 10+ years in the promotion of healthy active living, Laura wanted a more tangible way to help others champion self-care, find refuge from stress, and heal from injury. She has a sincere desire to help people feel their best and a deep curiosity to figure out what that looks like for everyone individually.
Laura graduated from the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy (CCMH) in May 2025 and is a member in good standing with the Massage Therapists’ Association of Nova Scotia. While attending CCMH, Laura completed over 340 hours of clinical practice, tailoring treatments to the unique needs of each patient and conducting thorough assessments to ensure safe and effective treatment plans. Her experience spans a range of conditions, including sports injuries, neurological conditions, invisible illnesses and general wellness. Laura also holds an Ontario College Graduate Certificate in Web Design from Sheridan College (Oakville, ON) and a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising with a minor in Psychology from Southern Methodist University (Dallas, TX), where she was co-captain of the Women’s Swimming & Diving Team. As a former high-performance athlete, Laura has firsthand experience in how the body can become injured, compensate, and recover. She has also been treated by a variety of healthcare professionals and understands the value of each, guiding her empathetic, individualized, and holistic approach to care.
Among the highlights of her athletic career, you’ll find Laura is a former Canadian record holder in the 50m Freestyle, 2002 Commonwealth Games bronze medalist, and a 2001 Canada Summer Games multiple gold medalist. She later returned to the Summer Games as volunteer Mission Staff for Team Nova Scotia in 2017. When not at work, Laura loves spending time in and around the ocean, surfing year-round and sailing. She also enjoys practicing yoga, playing video games, reading, gardening, and knitting yet another hat.
